Mamaroneck Police Blotter: Battle Over Barking, Identity Theft, and Hit and Run While Crossing Street

This week in the Village and Town of Mamaroneck a woman argued with her neighbor over a dog that wouldn't stop barking, an unauthorized Sprint cell phone was activated, and a driver hit a woman and kept going.

 Tuesday, Feb. 22

 8:30 a.m. – A man who had neglected to shovel his sidewalk on the 700 block of Boston Post Road was given a summons for violating village code.

12:51 p.m. – A woman residing in the Palmer Avenue Apartments complained to police about an ongoing battle she was having with her neighbor—mostly thorough the wall separating their apartments—over allegedly inappropriate barking by her dog.  Police were able to mediate the situation.

 2:16 p.m. – A Grand Street resident reported that their debit card information was used for unauthorized purchases.  They informed their bank of the unlawful activity.

 2:28 p.m. – A resident of the 400 block of Halstead Avenue had a check unknowingly stolen from them, and then deposited by an unknown person to the tune of $970. 

Wednesday, Feb. 23

12:49 a.m. – During a vehicle and traffic stop on the 400 block of East Boston Post Road, a 45-year old man was arrested and charged with DWI. 

4:50 p.m. – For unknown reasons, a man was sputtering obscenities to himself on the 300 block of Boston Post Road.  The man left without incident after police responded to the call.

Thursday, Feb. 24

10:56 p.m. – A 36-year old Mt. Vernon woman was struck on the 300 block of Mamaroneck Avenue while crossing the street.  The car that hit her—described as a silver Jeep—fled the scene.  The woman was taken to Sound Shore Medical Center complaining of back pain.

 Tuesday, Feb. 22

 2:00 p.m. – After she received a phone call from Sprint regarding an account that she didn’t recognize, a 52-year old Myrtle Boulevard resident contacted police about the illegal activity.
