Mamaroneck Police Blotter: Expensive Toys Stolen

Blotter 10/25- 10/31: Remember to remove valuable items from view in your vehicle.

These are some of the cases being investigated by the Village and Town of Mamaroneck police departments.

Village of Mamaroneck

Accident Hit & Run
Sometime between Oct. 27 and Oct. 29,  a vehicle parked on Hillside Avenue  was struck and damaged by an unknown vehicle.

A vehicle parked overnight on the 400 block of Carroll Avenue was damaged by an unknown vehicle on Oct. 30.

On Oct. 31,  a vehicle parked overnight on the 800 block of Woodbine was damaged by an unknown vehicle.

Criminal Mischief
On Oct. 25,  graffiti was discovered on a building on the 400 block of Waverly Avenue. The damage occurred between midnight and 8:30 a.m.

The front passenger window was broken on a vehicle parked overnight Oct. 28 on the 400 block of Railroad Way.  Nothing was taken.

On Oct. 28,  the dashboard of a vehicle parked in a rear lot on the 800 block of Mamaroneck Ave. was damaged.

Scratches were found on a vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence on Prospect Avenue around midnight on Oct. 31.

Drug Investigations
A 51 year-old male from the Bronx was arrested for possession of marijuana in the 400 block of Halstead around 1 a.m. on Oct. 26.

DWI
Nicholas Leone,  a 25 year-old male from Larchmont was arrested for DWI on Oct. 31.

Larceny
A leaf blower valued at $350 was taken from a vehicle parked in a lot on Fayette Avenue sometime between midnight and 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 25.

Golf clubs valued at $2100 were taken from a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Mamaroneck Avenue between midnight Oct. 23 and 4:00 p.m. Oct. 25.

Jewelry valued at $20,000 was reported missing from a home on Rushmore Avenue sometime between Sept. 1 and Oct. 6.  The loss was reported on Oct. 27.

On Oct. 28,  a leaf blower valued at $450 was taken from Mamaroneck High School.

On Oct. 28,  a 42 year-old man from Mamaroneck was arrested at the CVS on the 200 block of Mamaroneck Avenue for taking two cartons of cigarettes valued at $170 without paying.

$20 in coins was taken from an unlocked vehicle parked on Prospect Avenue. The loss was reported on Oct. 30.

A bicycle valued at $200 was taken from the backyard of a residence on Mt. Pleasant Ave. on Oct. 31.

1 scofflaw.
8 vehicle accidents without injury.
3 village code violations.

Town of Mamaroneck

Grand Larceny
On Oct. 28,  a man reported his wallet containing his identification and a $205 Greyhound bus ticket missing from the Vine Street transit facility.

Petit Larceny
A cosmetic bag and clothing bag were taken from a residence on Carriage House Lane sometime between Oct. 26 and 27.

GPS units were reported taken from two different vehicles on Oct. 27: one on Wagon Wheel Road between Oct. 26 and 27,  another on Jenny Close between Oct. 21 and 27.

Several items including a speaker valued at $200,  an iPod valued at $300,  two gaming systems valued at $400 and a hockey stick valued at $75 were taken from a residence on Carol Lane.  The loss occurred sometime during the early morning hours of Oct. 27.

Vehicle Accident
On Oct. 31,  a driver left the scene of an accident after hitting a parked car in a lot at 1262 Boston Post Road.  The owner of the parked car was able to get the license plate number of the car that did the damage.  Police caught up with the owner who was issued a summons and admitted fleeing.
