Mamaroneck Police Blotter: Oct. 12 - Oct. 17

This week's blotter holds a key message for all drivers—do not keep your valuables in plain sight.

These are some of the cases being investigated by the Village and Town of Mamaroneck police departments.

Village of Mamaroneck

Aggravated Harassment
On Oct. 15, just after midnight, a man was arrested on Howard Avenue for aggravated harassment and criminal possession of a knife.

Assault
A 55-year-old Yonkers man was arrested for assault on Oct. 16. The man was in a vehicle on Halstead Avenue and got into an argument with a pedestrian that escalated into a physical confrontation.

Burglary
On Oct. 14, a burglary was reported which occurred sometime during the day on the 900 block of W. Boston Post Road. Jewelry and personal papers were taken.

Criminal Mischief
A CVS customer parked for less than five minutes around 7:45 p.m. on Oct. 15 had the driver's passenger side window of their vehicle broken. The car was parked outside the store on the 1100 block of E. Boston Post Road. Nothing was taken.

At around 8:20 p.m. on Oct. 15, a car parked at Healthy Fit on the 1000 block of E. Boston Post Road was vandalized. The front passenger window was broken and a handbag with cash, personal papers and sunglasses were taken.

Criminal Mischief- Noise
On Oct. 13, police responded to a noise complaint at an apartment in the 400 block of Munro.

Two noise calls were received by police on Oct. 13: one at 9:30 p.m. in the 100 block of N. Barry Ave and another at 10:20 p.m. to an apartment in the 400 block of Halstead Avenue.

Police responded to a noise complaint on Oct. 14 at 7:53 p.m. in the 900 block of Stuart Avenue.

On Oct. 16, police responded to a noise complaint on the 600 block of Halstead Avenue at around 10:00 p.m.

Police responded to a noise complaint on the 200 block of Mamaroneck Avenue at around 11:12 a.m.

Drug Investigations
On Oct. 12, two men were arrested on Halstead Avenue at around 9:30 p.m. after an officer observed them making an illegal transaction. One was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, the other with criminal sale of a controlled substance.

On Oct. 13, one adult was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana around midnight on Ralph Avenue. A minor was also arrested.

DWI
Ladislao Henderson of Mamaroneck was arrested on the 400 block of N. Barry Ave. for DWI at 4:10 a.m. on Oct. 16.

Hit & Run
A car suffered damage to its left quarter panel, wheel and tire after being hit on Oct. 13 while parked on the 600 block of Halstead Avenue.

A parked car was damaged by another vehicle while parked in a lot on the 600 block of E. Boston Post Road on Oct. 13 around 5:20 p.m.

A vehicle was rear-ended while parked at Harbor Island Park on Oct. 14 around 10:00 p.m.

On Oct. 17, a vehicle parked on the 600 block of Munro sustained damage to its left rear quarter panel.

Identity Theft
An investigation is pending into a case of identity theft. On Oct. 15, a victim reported to police that an unknown person cashed two checks totaling more than $10,000 against their personal bank account.

Larceny
On Oct. 15, books and cash were taken from a vehicle parked at the Equinox Gym on the 1000 block of W. Boston Post Road at around 6:30 p.m. When police responded they found a second vehicle had been similarly damaged. A handbag with cash, personal papers and glasses were taken.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle
The 2003 Saab reported stolen on Oct. 4 was found on Oct. 16 parked on Station Plaza with no sign of forced entry, no items removed.

Town of Mamaroneck

Criminal Mischief
On Oct. 17 between 8:30 and 10:00 p.m., the window of a vehicle parked at NY Sports Club on Madison Avenue was broken. Nothing was taken.

Grand Larceny
Several checks totaling over $10,000, a leather case, and a storage box were taken from the NY Sports Club on Madison Avenue by an unknown perpetrator on Oct. 15 between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m.

Petit Larceny
A $400 Blackberry cellphone was reported taken at the NY Sports Club on Madison Avenue at 4:00 p.m. on Oct. 12.

A bicycle valued at $350 was taken from a residence on Howell Avenue. The loss was reported on Oct. 17.
