Downed trees and wires
During this weekend's storm, several trees came down on wires, roads and even homes, which caused road closures and required Con Edison to shut down power in several areas. A tree landed on a vehicle on Delancey Avenue, causing damage to the hood and passenger's side mirror. Another tree came down on a home and wires on Carroll Avenue, after which Con Edison had to knock down a phone pole, police said. On West Boston Post Road, a tree collapsed on an arcing wire, which later exploded, resulting in two live power lines coming down and blocking the roadway. The matter took several hours to resolve.
