In an email, the district said the school district is proposing one of the lower budget and tax levy increases in the region.

New for the next school year, if the public approves the spending package, will be the addition of 11 faculty positions, "to account primarily for continued enrollment growth projections at the middle and high school."

A new position of director of student life will help meet the social and emotional needs of students at Hommocks.

Students' access to Chromebooks in fifth-grade classrooms will be expanded to help integrate the teaching of digital skills and citizenship with the literacy curriculum, according to the district.

The budget hearing will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 7 in the Mamaroneck High School Tiered Classroom.

The budget vote will take place from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. at voters' elementary schools.
