Spring Benefit Will Support Grants Program

From Beekeeping, an Electronic Music Studio, and refrigeration for the Culinary Arts program at Mamaroneck High School, to Canine Integrated Therapy and revitalized outdoor recreation space at Hommocks Middle School, and educational technology at the elementary schools, the 24 new grants totaling over $186,000 recently awarded by the Mamaroneck Schools Foundation (the Foundation) will benefit thousands of students in the Mamaroneck District schools and community in many ways.

Cecilia Absher, Foundation President, notes, "it is thanks to our generous, supportive community and the work of our dedicated volunteers that we are able to continue to fund teachers' thoughtful requests for a wide range of educational purposes that enhance students’ experiences in all grades and disciplines." Information about all of the grants awarded this year and over our 22 year history is featured here.

To support its grants program, the Foundation holds an annual spring benefit and auction. This year’s theme is “Havana Nights” and will feature the Mamaroneck High School Jazz Band, a salsa dance performance, Mojitos and tasty Cuban food stations as well as a pop up cigar bar. Guests at the Benefit, which will be held this Saturday, April 28 at the Orienta Beach Club, will invited to bid on many fabulous silent and live auction offerings, including special gifts, exceptional experiences, wine and spirits and more. Our live auction offerings may be viewed here and you may peruse many of our silent auction offerings here. Tickets to the Havana Nights event will be available at the door (6:30pm at Orienta Beach Club at 1054 Walton Ave, Mamaroneck, NY). If you cannot come to our Havana Nights Benefit and would like to support the Foundation's grants program, you may donate online here.
