Man Admits He Tried To Strangle Girlfriend
Police said, after an argument, he punched his girlfriend in the face then tried to strangle her with her sweatshirt.

MAMARONECK, NY — A guilty plea was entered in relation to a domestic violence assault in Mamaroneck. Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino Jr. said Thursday that Lateef Outlaw, also known as John Anderson, 41, pleaded guilty Monday to attempting to strangle his girlfriend in Mamaroneck in November.
Outlaw was charged with third-degree attempted strangulation, a felony.
He will be sentenced as a violent predicate felony offender June 10.

Police said that, around 3 a.m. Nov. 2, in the vicinity of Mamaroneck Avenue in Mamaroneck, Outlaw and his girlfriend argued.
As she was getting in her car to leave, Outlaw punched her in the face.

He then took her sweatshirt and wrapped it around her neck causing her to gasp for air, police said.
The woman was able to get away to safety.
A warrant was issued for Outlaw's arrest and the Village of Mamaroneck police arrested him Dec. 6.
