National Fall Leadership Conference is Huge Success!

The exciting annual Fall National Leadership Conference for FBLA took place in Buffalo, New York this November.

The annual National Fall Leadership Conference for the Eastern Region took place on November 3rd and 4th.

This year’s NFLC took place in Buffalo, New York. It was a very educational and exciting conference. Many attending chapters took advantage of the magnificent Niagara Falls nearby. Students enjoyed the stunning view of the falls and the landscape of Canada across the water.

The first day of the conference began in the morning with a tour of the convention center, the Hyatt Regency in Buffalo. This familiarized each attendee with the space where they would be spending their time the next two days.

Each day, the morning and afternoon was filled with informative workshops.

The material of workshops varied greatly. One workshop led by Thomas Mueller was called, “Improv Your Way to a Brighter Future”. This workshop had members participating in engaging activities in order to learn how improvisation is constantly worked into the professional world. This may mean coming up with a solid answer for an unexpected question in an interview. Other workshops included but were not limited to, “International Dining Etiquette Tutorial”, “Demystifying the College Search Process”, and “Little Known Marketing Secrets”.

Opening Session occurred at the end of the first day where the National Officers welcomed everyone and the keynote speaker, Rhett Laubach, provided entertaining insight into his success and encouraged FBLA members to work hard to achieve success.

Closing session and a festive dance took place on the second day of the conference. Another keynote speaker took the stage named Matt Bellace. Bellace utilized many volunteers in his comedic presentation.

The conference was a great way to elevate networking and business skills. Chapters from states such as New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Virginia, West Virginia, and Alabama attended- making it a great way to meet new people.

The 2017 National Fall Leadership Conference was a splendid experience for Eastern Region Members. Everyone will reconvene in June at the National Leadership Conference in Baltimore, Maryland!
