Next Court Date for Twinkle Toes Owners Set for November

Christopher and Denise MacDonald were scheduled to appear in the Village of Larchmont Justice Court Tuesday. Their case has been adjourned until November.

A scheduled court appearance by Christopher and Denise MacDonald in Larchmont Village Court this Tuesday was adjourned until December 14th. The couple was charged in July with grand larceny and a repeated failure to file tax returns. They operate three businesses from 1943 Palmer Ave. in Larchmont, including Twinkle Toes, a children's clothing boutique also located in Rye.

Justice Thea Beaver said that the case remained on the Village Court docket for control purposes. "When they adjourn [the case], we adjourn it here as well," said the judge.

Westchester County Supreme Court Judge Richard Molea agreed to move the next hearing involving the Macdonalds to November 10 because of a calendar conflict, according to the office of Jeffrey Chartier, defense counsel for the couple.

"None of this is unusual," said Westchester County District Attorney spokesman Lucian Chalfen.

According to Chalfen, the MacDonalds' next scheduled court appearance will be in November at Westchester County Supreme Court in White Plains. By that time, the case will either come to some resolution based on negotiations between the judge, the district attorney's office and defense counsel, or be held over for trial. Chalfen said the Macdonalds would not likely appear again in Larchmont Village Court.
