“The car just switched lanes and crashed into the pole,” she said. “He didn’t hit anybody. We thought he was just being an ass cutting in front of [another car.]”
As she got out of her own car to go and help, another person had already removed him from the vehicle. Even though people shouldn’t remove injured from a car, she said, there was gasoline on the road and “the people must have thought that the car might blow up.”
Mario Castro of Mamaroneck heard the revving and crash as he exited Dunkin’ Donuts.
“It was very loud,” he said. “I just hope the guy is okay.”
Firefighters laid pellets overtop gas on the road, and EMS personnel placed the man on a stretcher, into an ambulance and off to the hospital.
Police, searching his vehicle, removed clear ziplock bags and personal items. The cause of the crash and medical condition of the man is currently unknown.
