Packed Weekend for Mamaroneck FBLA
This weekend, Mamaroneck FBLA attended the Fall District Meeting and the Mamaroneck "Spooktacular" festival.
Friday, Mamaroneck FBLA attended the annual Fall District Meeting, held at Lakeland High School. The Fall District Meeting (FDM) is essentially a reunion of all the Chapters in the New York District 3S, which consists of Hendrick Hudson High School, Lakeland High School, Walter Panas High School, and of course, Mamaroneck High School. The reunion serves to elect/appoint district positions and reunite the individual Chapters through workshops.
An opening ceremony was conducted and a keynote speech was given by Debra Woolley, Corporate Partnerships Director at Keep America Beautiful.
Soon afterwards, members had the chance to assimilate and network with members from their district, as well as attend helpful half-hour workshops, such as “How to Become a State Officer” and “Writing for the FBLA Express.” One workshop in particular, “Impromptu Speaking” was prepared and presented by Mamaroneck student and FBLA NY State President, Andrew Danziger.
After a district dinner in the cafeteria, a closing ceremony was held, and soon thereafter, Mamaroneck FBLA headed to the bus back home.
