Poetic Truths: An Afternoon of Poetry in Larchmont

Join poets Michael Collins, Claudine Nash and Lisa Rhodes-Ryabchich for a poetry extravaganza!

You are invited to join poets Michael Collins, Claudine Nash and Lisa Rhodes-Ryabchich for a poetry extravaganza that explores race, family, and class, with an examination of the spiritual aspects of the soul, the facets of healing, loss, and liberation of the resentment of the past.

Poetic Truths at the Larchmont Public Library. Saturday, October 21 from 2pm to 4pm. Refreshments available.

Michael Collin’s poems have received Pushcart Prize nominations and appeared in more than 50 journals and magazines, including Grist, Kerning Journal, Pank, and Smartish Pace. His first chapbook, How to Sing When People Cut Off Your Head and Leave It Floating in the Water, won the Exact Change Press Contest in 2014. A full-length collection, Psalmandafa, was published later that year, and a second chapbook, Harbor Mandala, appeared in 2015.

Claudine Nash’s books include Parts Per Trillion (Aldrich Press, 2016) and The Problem With Loving Ghosts (Finishing Line Press, 2014). She also co-edited the book In So Many Words: A Collection of Interviews and Poems From Today’s Poets, with Adam Levon Brown (Madness Muse Press, 2016). Her poems have won prizes from Avalon Literary Review, Eye on Life Magazine, The Song Is…and Lady Chaos Press and have appeared in numerous magazines and anthologies including Cloudbank, Asimov’s Science Fiction, Star*Line, Yellow Chair Review, The Westchester Review, Foliate Oak Literary Magazine, Haight Ashbury Literary Journal, and The MOON magazine among others.

Lisa Rhodes-Ryabchich is the author of We Are Beautiful Like Snowflakes (Finishing Line Press, 2016). Her poems have appeared most recently in Praxis Mag Online, Gather Round: A Collaboration of Cave Canem Workshop and Retreat Poets, and The Journal of Poetry Therapy. She received and MFA in poetry from Sarah Lawrence College and writes her own poetry blog online.
