Police Blotter: Bloody Stairs, Intoxicated Boating and False Gunshots

The following arrest information was supplied by the Village and Town of Mamaroneck police departments. It does not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, June 23

2:48 p.m. – A 2008 Honda was damaged while parked and unoccupied in front of 839 Underhill Ave.

4:38 p.m. – An intoxicated woman sprawled out in the area of 500 Halstead Ave. was taken to the hospital for treatment.

8:39 p.m. – A 29-year-old village man driving a Toyota was stopped for a motor vehicle violation.  Upon further investigation, the man was arrested and charged with DWI.

9:31 p.m. – Based on the report of a Town of Mamaroneck (TOM) resident, TOM police contacted village police to investigate gunshots heard near Baldwin Place.  Upon investigation, police found nothing out of the ordinary.

10:42 p.m. – The thumping reverberations from outdoor speakers at Molly Spillane’s at 211 Mamaroneck Ave. caused a resident to lodge a noise complaint to police.  The speakers were moved indoors.

11:39 p.m. – A second complaint—this time regarding loud patrons—was lodged against Molly Spillane’s.  The patrons were brought in off the balcony.

Sunday, June 24

1:49 a.m. – Two intoxicated men engaged in a physical brawl outside of Juarez Mexican Restaurant in front of 626 Mamaroneck Ave., causing one to suffer a facial bruise, presumably as a result of a wayward fist.  No charges were pressed.

2:16 a.m. – A white Chevy Astro van barreling down the street struck a 2008 Nissan parked and unoccupied in front of 219 Mamaroneck Ave., near Bank, according to a witness.  The van sped off without stopping.

5:18 a.m. – In an ironic twist of fate, an unknown person broke the front window of Our Town Locksmith located on 131 Halstead Ave.  Police responded after a glass break sensor was activated.

4:00 p.m. – During Operation Dry Water, a 40-year-old Philadelphia resident driving a 1983 Falmouth Cutter was pulled over in the sound by harbor patrol for an expired registration.  Upon further investigation, he was charged with operating a vessel while ability impaired (alcohol). 

Monday, June 25

12:45 a.m. – Two noisy dogs in the driveway of a residence on Seney Avenue refused to be silenced.  Two calls to their owners went unanswered.

12:58 a.m. – A 22-year-old Norwalk, CT man and a 23-year-old White Plains woman were both issued village code summonses for being in during prohibited hours.

3:03 p.m. – A 44-year-old White Plains man was issued a village summons for operating a leaf blower in front of 745 Old White Plains Rd.  There is a seasonal ban against leaf blowers from May 15 to Sept. 30 in the village.

4:10 p.m. – Police responded to the report of a man asking for money on Franklin Avenue.  The man left without incident.

5:47 p.m. – A transformer exploded at on 144 E. Boston Post Rd.  The fire department and Con Ed responded.

5:52 p.m. – A resident of Clafin Avenue reported an undisclosed amount of jewelry missing; the theft is estimated to have occurred anytime between March 25-June 2. 

6:41 p.m. – A bloodstained wall and stairs alerted a caretaker at an apartment building on 525 Halstead Ave. to a potentially serious situation.  Police located the resident whose blood stained the hallway.  The man—after falling outside in the rain the day before—stumbled inside, his wounds not yet healed.  The man refused any offer of aid.

Wednesday, June 20

8:54 a.m. – The owner of a blue 2011 Subaru Impreza parked at 1 Washington Sq. reported damage to the left rear bumper.

11:55 a.m. – An underage offender was apprehended at the located on 1310 Boston Post Rd. for walking out with an Old Spice deodorant and Red Bull without paying.  The store declined prosecution.
