Police Blotter: Cell Phone Swiped at Pancake House, Dryer Wars and Sleepless On a Sidewalk
The following arrest information was supplied by the Village and Town of Mamaroneck police departments. It does not indicate a conviction.

Village of Mamaroneck
Saturday, July 16
6:48 a.m. – Two separate spray-painted graffiti tags advertising no particular affiliation were discovered on buildings on the 600 block of Waverly Ave. and 1000 block of Boston Post Rd. by officers on routine patrol.

8:26 a.m. – A resident reported that his Ford pickup had a scratch on the driver’s side after being parked on Carpenter Place. The damage was estimated to have occurred anytime between July 15 at 8:30 p.m. and July 16 at 7:30 p.m.
9:09 a.m. – A person renting a room in a home on the 1000 block of W. Boston Post Rd. reported that his laptop was missing from his room. The theft was estimated to have occurred anytime between July 15 and early July 16. A 46-year old woman residing in Mamaroneck—but originally from Pelham—was observed in the vicinity of the home shortly after the theft was reported. Police conducted an investigation and were able to retrieve the missing laptop from the woman’s home. The woman was subsequently arrested and charged with criminal possession of stolen property.

11:54 a.m. – A small mulch fire—thought to be started by an errant lit cigarette—was extinguished by village firefighters on 1444 E. Boston Post Rd., near People’s United Bank. No damages were reported.
3:35 p.m. – The owner of a 2009 GMC SUV parked in a lot on Walton Avenue, reported damage to the driver’s side of his vehicle. The scratches were estimated to have occurred between 12:15 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on July 16.
6:12 p.m. – Later in the day, the owner of a 2008 car reported a scratch on the driver’s side of his vehicle after he parked in a lot on Walton Avenue.
Sunday, July 17
1:10 a.m. – Two supposed friends duked it out on the 600 block of Mamaroneck Ave., with one of the men, a 37-year old village resident, suffering a laceration above his left eye as a result of the brawl. The village resident went to White Plains Hospital for treatment. Police are investigating the occurrence.
2:30 a.m. – Police received a report of another fight in progress on Mamaroneck Avenue, but both parties were gone when they arrived.
1:38 p.m. – A resident of Halstead Avenue reported damage to the rear of her garage from the equipment used by a construction company doing work on Carroll Avenue.
4:45 p.m. – Village firefighters responded to a report of a boat fire on Shore Acres Drive, located at the rear of a residence on the water. The fire was extinguished and no damages were reported.
6:19 p.m. – A 2010 BMW parked and unoccupied in a lot on Cove Road was struck by an unknown vehicle.
Monday, July 18
4:57 a.m. – A man was sprawled out on the sidewalk in front of Hector’s Café on 158 Mamaroneck Ave. Police corrected the condition.
8:07 a.m. – A truck got stuck under the bridge on Fenimore Avenue. The Metro-North (MTA) police and Vincent’s Garage responded to the scene.
11:00 a.m. – A 2008 Toyota was scratched while it was parked and unoccupied on Rushmore Avenue.
12:30 p.m. – An Orienta Avenue resident reported her EZ-Pass as missing, however, she was unsure where it was last seen. It had been missing since July 5.
12:42 p.m. – A business on the 200 block of Mamaroneck Ave. was reportedly broken into while closed. Nothing was reported as missing.
1:32 p.m. – A 2001 Toyota was reportedly struck while parked and unoccupied on Florence Street.
1:46 p.m. - A truck got stuck under the bridge on Mamaroneck Avenue. MTA police responded to the scene.
2:23 p.m. – A large tree branch came crashing down on power lines in front of 305 Union Ave., blocking the roadway so cars were unable to pass. Con Edison and village firefighters responded to the scene.
3:00 p.m. – Two dogs were roaming around leashless on the 300 block of Fenimore Ave. after they escaped from their yard. Police issued a warning to the owner’s brother, who said the dogs accidentally got out of his sibling's yard.
5:57 p.m. – An extinguished oven fire on 39 Grand St. caused a potentially hazardous smoke condition. Local firefighters corrected the situation.
8:30 p.m. – A heated squabble over clothes dryers led to the police visiting a Laundromat on 357 Mamaroneck Ave. Police mediated the situation and no charges were pressed.

Friday, July 15
12:09 p.m. – An argument in the parking lot of on 1266 Boston Post Rd. between two harried customers over an unknown topic, led to police intervention. No charges were pressed.
2:30 p.m. – A Cranston, Rhode Island resident, 43, reported the theft of her $250, 2011 Garmin GPS from her unlocked vehicle parked in front of a residence on Briarcliff Road.
Sunday, July 17
3:11 p.m. – After he paid his bill at the on 1375 Boston Post Rd., a 23-year old New Rochelle man reported that, upon returning to his booth, his $250 Blackberry Curve was no longer there.
4:13 p.m. – A Garnerville, NY resident, 18, swerved his 2010 Nissan while traveling northbound on White Plains Road, narrowly averting a sprinting deer and, instead, sailing across two lanes of traffic and hitting a large rock. There were no reported injuries.
Monday, July 18
12:23 p.m. – A 2009 Subaru driven by a New Rochelle resident, 23, had a smash-up with a 2002 Oshkosh truck driven by an Athens, NY resident, 40. The woman driving the Subaru stopped suddenly while traveling north on Weaver Street, in which time the Oshkosh truck struck her passenger side doors as well as a utility pole on the side of the road. There were no injuries reported.
