Police Blotter: Cigarette Thief At Large and Tip Stealer
The following arrest information was supplied by the Village and Town of Mamaroneck police departments. It does not indicate a conviction.

Village of Mamaroneck
Tuesday, May 24
2:40 a.m. – After he was stopped by police for a moving violation on the 800 block of Mamaroneck Avenue, a 25-year old White Plains resident failed sobriety tests and was subsequently arrested and charged with DWI. He posted bail and will be required to appear in Village of Mamaroneck (VOM) court.

12:03 p.m. – A man contacted police to report that his Ford Ranger—while parked and unoccupied on Lester Avenue between May 23 at 5 p.m. and May 24 at 12 p.m.—was the target of criminal mischief. The Ranger’s window was smashed and a $200 GPS was stolen.
2:58 p.m. – Police received a complaint from a business on West Boston Post Road that a dark-haired woman in her mid-50’s wearing, “a floral arrangement shirt,” was soliciting for an allegedly nonexistent charity. Further, the complaint stated, $10 was found missing from a tip jar after the blossom-clad woman departed.

3:29 p.m. – A driver rear-ended another car on East Boston Post Road. When the woman exited her car to assess the potential damage she had caused, the driver of the other car gave her a verbal thrashing, and then left the scene. The woman reported that there was no damage to either vehicle.
11:00 p.m. – A 66-year old Larchmont resident was arrested and charged with DWI after police responded to a complaint of a minor auto accident on the 300 block of Palmer Avenue. Police observed the man exhibiting signs of intoxication, and he subsequently failed sobriety tests. The man was released on his own recognizance (ROR) and is due back in VOM court.
Wednesday, May 25
2:11 a.m. – Yelling obscenities in public caused a 35-year old Pennsylvania resident to be arrested for disorderly conduct on the 700 block of Mamaroneck. He posted bail and is due back in VOM court.
8:22 p.m. – A man reported a two inch hole/dent in the front hood of his vehicle, that was not there before. He was parked on Bishop Avenue between 7:00 a.m.-6:40 p.m. when the damage occurred.
8:38 p.m. – A $90 mountain bike was reported stolen from a residence on Maple Avenue.
Thursday, May 26
10:10 a.m. – A 4th Street resident reported that an unknown person made $1,600 worth of fraudulent purchases on their debit card. The incident was also reported to the resident’s bank.
8:16 p.m. – After a customer took more gas than they reportedly paid for, an employee of a gas station on the 500 block of Mamaroneck Avenue lodged a complaint with police for documentation purposes only. No charges were pressed.

Friday, May 27
1:49 a.m. – An unknown perpetrator stole four cartons of cigarettes from Two cartons of Newports valued at $167.70 and two cartons of Marlboro Reds valued at $181.26 are still at large.
