Police Blotter: Deer Tangled in Backyard Apparatus and Identity Theft

Sunday, Nov. 25

11:17 p.m. – A 39-year-old village man was stopped for a traffic infraction in front of 608 Halstead Ave. while driving a 2005 Chevy.  Upon further investigation, he was arrested for DWI.  He was later released on $100 bail and is due back in village court on Nov. 29.

Monday, Nov. 26

9:43 a.m. – The presence of a dead animal’s carcass in front of 1225 Mamaroneck Ave. was reported to police. A trapper was contacted with regard to the animal’s disposal.

3:18 p.m. – A wayward deer was freed from a backyard constraint at a residence on Grand Street.

4:30 p.m. – After an unknown person attempted to open two lines of credit in his name, a Florence Street resident reported the incident to police.  The victim’s bank is also investigating the attempt.

11:13 p.m. – Suspecting that a tall, suited man was attempting to break into a car by jiggling the rear passenger door, a local resident yelled at him.  As the man approached her, the fearful woman ducked into a Mamaroneck Avenue apartment building and contacted police.  There was no damage observed to the car; the incident was documented only.
