Police Blotter: False Alarms and Graffiti

The following arrest information was supplied by the Village and Town of Mamaroneck police departments. It does not indicate a conviction.

Town of Mamaroneck

Wednesday, June 8:

6:10 p.m. – A tree fell across Hawthorne Avenue. Police notified the town highway department.

Tuesday, June 7:

 7:33 a.m. – Police were called to the 600 block of Wavery Avenue on the report of criminal mischief, and found a graffiti spray painted on a building.

7:50 a.m. – A vehicle was struck while parked and unoccupied overnight on the 800 block of W. Boston Post Road. Police found damage to the driver’s side mirror and quarter panel.

9:50 a.m. – Police responded to a hit-and-run automobile accident outside of the 700 block of Mamaroneck Avenue. Damage was sustained to the first vehicle’s bumper, and the second driver was located.

8:20 p.m. – On Beach Avenue, police responded to a call of an illegally parked car. The car was located and issued a summons.

10:19 p.m. – On Fairway Lawn, a technician called in an alarm tripping. Police indicated that the alarm had been set off in error.

Wednesday, June 8:

1:45 a.m. – Spray painted graffiti on a truck—criminal mischief—occurred on Fayette Avenue. Police indicate the incident took place overnight.

2:27 a.m. – Donald Howe, 58, from Mamaroneck, was charged with a DWI after a traffic infraction.

12:20 p.m. – Police responded to the call of a fire and smoke condition at 100 Mamaroneck Ave. Smoke was coming from the basement, and was corrected by village firefighters.

5:11 p.m. – A police unit visited a residence on Nine Acres Lane after a report of an alarm sounding in the home. The carbon monoxide detectors of its non-monitored system were active. Village police called the fire department, who found the alarm to be malfunctioning.

5:27 p.m. – A burglar alarm at Harbor Island Park was falsely activated; police found an open recreation door. A person on the scene was able to close and lock the door.
