Police Blotter: NJ Woman Charged With Prostitution, Water Bottle Bullies and Car Break-Ins

Tuesday, August 2
8:33 a.m. – The theft of $40 from a 2011 Chevy parked on 4th Street was reported. The car was unlocked and there was no sign of forced entry. The theft was estimated to have occurred anytime between July 31 and August 2.

11:47 a.m. – Police responded to a complaint of a verbal fight in progress on Mamaroneck Avenue. The incident was a domestic dispute; there were no injuries.
Wednesday, August 3

11:26 a.m. – A 49-year old Palisades Park, NJ woman was arrested and charged with prostitution and third degree attempted sexual abuse, a misdemeanor. After receiving complaints about illegal activity at a location on Ward Avenue, village detectives began an investigation, which concluded in Fenglan Liu’s arrest. Liu was released on bail and is due back in village court on August 11.
1:12 p.m. – The owner of a 2006 Ford reported damage to his car while it was parked in front of 817 W. Boston Post Rd., near . In addition to a damaged driver’s side mirror and scuff marks on the driver’s door, a brown, sticky liquid—possibly soda—was smeared on the side as well.
2:14 p.m. – A 20-year old village man was arrested and charged with fifth degree criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor. The man was found with a stolen cell phone that was identified as being missing after a May 19 burglary on the 400 block of Mamaroneck Avenue. The 20-year old man was released on his own recognizance (ROR) and is due back in village court.
9:06 p.m. – The driver of a 2000 VW reported that another car sideswiped her and took off while she was driving. There were no injuries reported.
Thursday, August 4
9:30 a.m. – A utility pole was damaged after a truck smacked into it on 271 Washington St. The truck was gone when police arrived.
2:54 p.m. – Several youths caught with a paintball gun on Knollwood Avenue were picked up and taken home.
4:19 p.m. – After leaving her wallet on a table of a business on the 800 block of Mamaroneck Avenue, the owner returned to find it gone. An investigation is pending.
8:51 p.m. – A Maple Avenue resident complained that a group of rowdy kids lobbed a water bottle at the window of her home. She wanted to document the incident as one among many that had previously occurred.
10:15 p.m. – The owner of a 2008 Mitsubishi reported that the passenger window of his car was broken while it was parked on Phillips Park Road between 3:50-10:10 p.m.
