Police Blotter: Scorned Items Thrown in Feud, Trio of Arrests For Drugs and Dirty Car Raises Eyebrows
The following arrest information was supplied by the Village and Town of Mamaroneck police departments. It does not indicate a conviction.

Village of Mamaroneck
Friday, Sept. 23
2:30 a.m. – A 27-year-old village woman was arrested and charged with Driving While Ability Impaired (DWAI) by Drugs after she smashed into a telephone pole on Spruce Street with her 2005 Honda. She was later found to be under the influence of prescription drugs. There were no injuries reported.

7:09 a.m. – The owner of a 1998 Honda reported that the car’s passenger window was smashed and an attempt was made to pry open a door after she left it parked and unoccupied on Center Avenue. A GPS unit and miscellaneous tools valued at approximately $1,000 were taken.
8:40 a.m. – A garbage-strewn vehicle parked and unoccupied on 5th Street alarmed a resident enough to call in a complaint to police. Police checked out the car’s license plate and it came back clear with no outstanding violations.

9:04 a.m. – A 1992 Honda was stolen while parked on Van Ranst Place between Sept. 22-23, the car’s owner reported.
2:39 p.m. – After several hours of steady rain, areas of flooding on West Boston Post Road and Forest Avenue was reported to police. The water—which has a tendency to pool in that area said Village of Mamaroneck Spokesperson Detective Sandra DiRuzza—receded on it’s own.
7:03 p.m. – Emergency and fire departments were called to the scene of a suspected gas leak at a residence on Waverly Avenue. The 52-year-old resident complained of dizziness after detecting the odor of gas, but refused medical treatment at the scene.
10:54 p.m. – A house on Seahaven Drive was reportedly broken into between 6:30-10:30 p.m. on Saturday and thieves absconded with miscellaneous jewelry.
Saturday, Sept. 24
12:41 a.m. – A 42-year-old village man was arrested and issued a summons for having an open container of alcohol in public while he was standing in front of 601 Mamaroneck Ave.
8:22 a.m. – The electronic arm of a gate into a parking lot at the Marina View Condo complex on 300 Livingston Ave. was broken according to a resident.
2:23 p.m. – A 62-year-old New Rochelle woman driving a 2005 Subaru was making a left turn from West Boston Post Road onto Library Lane near the , when she was sideswiped by a 38-year old woman also from New Rochelle driving a 2009 Honda traveling straight on the Boston Post Road. The 38-year-old woman had arm and neck pain and was taken to Sound Shore Hospital for treatment. The 62-year-old woman had neck pain but refused medical treatment at the scene.
3:54 p.m. – A 2006 Honda was struck by an unknown driver in the parking lot of at 735 E. Boston Post Rd. There was minor damage to the car.
8:09 p.m. – After being pulled over for a motor vehicle infraction, police arrested and charged three passengers in the car—a 19-year-old village man, a 44-year-old village man and a 41-year-old Ohio man—with unlawful possession of marijuana and seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (cocaine). The 41-year-old man was also charged with being an unlicensed driver. All men were held for arraignment on Sunday in village court. The car was towed to .
11:17 p.m. – A resident of Waverly Avenue complained that noise from a nearby party was spilling over onto his property. The condition was corrected by police.
11:37 p.m. – Police received several reports of sustained racket originating from on 211 Mamaroneck Ave. After the third complaint of noise was called in around 2:21 a.m., police determined that a large and inebriated after-wedding crowd standing outside was to blame for the continued noise complaints. Taxis from Blue Bird and Paramount were called to come collect the stragglers.
Sunday, Sept. 25
9:25 a.m. – A man was camped out sleeping on a bench in front of on 305 Mamaroneck Ave. and left the area when police arrived.
10:35 a.m. – A 2002 Chrysler left parked and unoccupied on Stanley Avenue had damage to it’s driver’s side front and rear door presumably caused by a sharp object that left scratch marks in it’s wake.
11:30 p.m. – A 49-year old village man was arrested for DWI after his 2009 Mercedes Benz was pulled over for a routine motor vehicle violation.
Town of Mamaroneck
Sunday, Sept. 25
12:01 p.m. – A family feud turned semi-violent on Richbell Road resulted in damage to a laptop, cell phone and window pane. No charges were pressed.
2:33 p.m. – A North Brook Road resident reported that part of her child’s $150 drum kit was stolen from the Central School on 1100 Palmer Ave. sometime between June 1 and Sept. 8.
