Police Blotter: Teen Caught With Stolen Car, Drunken Brawl and Credit Card Fraud

The following arrest information was supplied by the Village of Mamaroneck Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Oct. 7

10:17 a.m. – While leaving the Hess station on 731 Mamaroneck Ave., a 51-year old White Plains woman driving a 2005 Subaru hit a 23-year old New Rochelle woman who was walking by, blissfully unaware of her surroundings.  The pedestrian was taken to Sound Shore hospital with knee pain.

5:30 p.m. – A student reported that his $200 iPhone was swiped from a locker at school.

6:17 p.m. – A Delancey Avenue resident was notified by his bank that an unknown person attempted to make several purchases using his debit card but was unsuccessful.  No money was lost as a result.

10:12 p.m. – A 35-year old Lancaster, PA man was arrested on an outstanding warrant for DWI after an officer on patrol who recognized the man, saw him walking in front of 400 Mamaroneck Ave.

Saturday, Oct. 8

2:43 a.m. – After she was stopped for a motor vehicle violation, a 20-year old village resident driving a 2003 Toyota was arrested for a suspended registration.  She is due back in village court on Oct. 13.

6:55 a.m. – A person retrieved their car after it was towed to but neglected to pay the bill.  Police located the driver and advised them to pay up.  No charges were filed.

8:25 a.m. – A crafty thief charged $400 worth of purchases to a Mamaroneck Avenue resident’s credit card after stealing his bag containing the card from a train.

10:39 a.m. – A patron of the on 124 Palmer Ave. reported that $100 in cash was pilfered from a locker between 8:15 a.m.-10:15 a.m.

4:07 p.m. – A Fenimore Road resident reported $8,200 in fraudulent charges on two separate credit cards.  Her bank notified her of the unusual activity and is continuing to investigate the charges.

8:15 p.m. – A 16-year old village man was issued a village code violation for throwing litter on the sidewalk in front of 300 Mamaroneck Ave.

Sunday, Oct. 9

1:26 a.m. – Police nabbed a 16-year old New Rochelle man for stealing a 2006 Chevy without permission and charged him with fourth degree grand larceny, a felony.  An officer on routine patrol noticed the car parked on Fayette Avenue with its lights on as the New Rochelle man walked away from the vehicle.

3:27 a.m. – A raucous fight between a three intoxicated village men in front of the on 601 Mamaroneck Ave.—a 24-year old, 31-year old and 29 year old—culminated in all being charged with disorderly conduct.  There were no reported injuries.

9:41 p.m. – Based on a report of an unsteadily swerving car in the area, police arrested a 44-year old New Rochelle man driving a 2002 Chevy in front of 665 Old White Plains Rd. and charged him with DWI after he failed sobriety tests.
