Police Blotter: Unidentified Bodily Fluids Soil Taxi Carpet, Sunday Night Fights and a Stolen Car

Friday, Aug. 10
4:17 a.m. – A 37-year-old White Plains woman driving a 2008 Toyota was stopped for a motor vehicle infraction on Rushmore Avenue and, upon further investigation, charged with Driving While Ability Impaired (DWAI).

1:56 p.m. – Despite it being locked, an unknown thief managed to steal a $700 mountain bike from a location on the 900 block of West Boston Post Road.
3:04 p.m. – A man reported the theft of $80 from a backpack while he was at .
8:38 p.m. – Although there were no signs of forced entry, the occupants of a apartment on Munro Avenue noticed several stolen items when they returned home from an evening out, including a $700 laptop, $200 netbook, $500 iPhone and $200 cash. The case is under investigation by police.
Saturday, Aug. 11
12:58 a.m. – After she was stopped by police on West Boston Post Road for a motor vehicle violation while driving a 2005 BMW, a 28-year-old New Rochelle woman was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. The woman was released on her own recognizance (ROR) and is due back in court on Aug. 23.
4:01 a.m. – A 23-year-old Town of Mamaroneck resident driving a 2012 Nissan in front of 746 Mamaroneck Ave., near the , was pulled over by police for a traffic infraction. Upon further investigation, he was arrested and charged with DWI.
9:35 a.m. – A 2006 Pontiac was stolen from Maple Avenue.
11:07 a.m. – After a smash-up between the drivers of a 2010 Infiniti and 2003 Subaru, the Subaru’s driver—a 58-year-old village man—was taken to the hospital with pain on the left side of his torso. The Subaru was traveling straight on Halstead Avenue when the Infiniti, making a turn onto the street, hit him.
11:46 a.m. – A grumbling former employee who was airing their grievances on Library Lane was advised by police to leave the area.
8:16 p.m. – A 25-year old White Plains man and a 24-year-old village man were issued village summonses for chugging alcohol on public property in front of 46 Madison St.
10:00 p.m. – A 19-year-old Larchmont resident pelted a police officer with obscenities after the officer stopped to talk to him in front of 665 Old White Plains Rd. The resident was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and possession of an open container of alcohol. He is due to appear in village court on Aug. 16.
Sunday, Aug. 12
2:10 a.m. – After a physical altercation with an unknown man on the 800 block of Mamaroneck Avenue, a 24-year-old Mt. Vernon resident was taken to the hospital with wounds on his knee, elbow and head. Town of Mamaroneck and Larchmont Police Departments—who had been called in for an earlier fight in the area—also responded to the scene.
4:50 a.m. – A 51-year-old Bronx resident driving a 2000 Mercury was pulled over in front of 731 Mamaroneck Ave. for a motor vehicle infraction. He was later arrested and charged with DWI.
7:24 a.m. – The owner of a vehicle parked on Wood Street reported damage including a smashed rear window and scratched driver’s side window.
10:03 p.m. – A 34-year-old White Plains woman driving a 2008 Toyota was charged with DWI after a traffic stop in front of 570 Van Ranst Pl.
Monday, Aug. 13
6:06 a.m. – A taxi driver—heated over the fact that unidentified bodily fluids were spilled in his car—contacted police to mediate the situation. The passenger, getting out of the vehicle at a location at Prospect Avenue, offered to pay for the soiled carpet to be cleaned.
3:20 p.m. – Two men—a 28-year-old Mosaic, NY resident and a 19-year-old Chicago resident—were issued village summonses for soliciting door to door on First Street without licenses.
8:35 p.m. – A $400 iPhone was stolen from a vehicle parked and unoccupied on the 200 block of Halstead Avenue.

Sunday, Aug. 12
11:53 a.m. – A $150 Garmin Nuvi was stolen from a 2002 Mercury parked in the driveway of a Harmon Drive residence. The rear hatch was open.
2:55 p.m. – A 22-year-old Harrison man was arrested for stealing two 6-packs of Corona Light from the on 1310 Boston Post Rd.
