Police Ticket Mamaroneck Woman For Flying U.S. Flag Upside Down
The woman wants police to show her the town code related to displaying the U.S. flag.
MAMARONECK, NY — A Mamaroneck woman wants to know why town police issued her a citation for allegedly flying an American flag upside down. Truike Boekholt-Daly, of Spruce Street, said she was confused and thought she could hang the flag any way she wants.
She said she wants the police to provide a photo of her alleged misdeed and also wants to see the town ordinance that states how a flag can or cannot be flown, FIOS1 News’ Andy Mattison reported.
Boekholt-Daly said police have been ticketing a lot of people lately due to ongoing construction on her street, which may be why she received the citation. Her court appearance is set for July.
