The Power of Language in Broadway’s “Hamilton” With Ben Zimmer
The Friends of the Larchmont Public Library present Ben Zimmer in a program about the language and its power in Broadway's "Hamilton"

"Hamilton" is the most coveted Broadway show right now and tickets have been sold out months in advance. The musical — created and composed by Lin-Manuel Miranda — features a multiracial cast rapping and singing the story of Alexander Hamilton, a founding father and America's first secretary of the treasury. It took six years for the musical to come together, but since it has, there is no stopping it now.
The Friends of the Larchmont Public Library present Ben Zimmer in an engaging program about the language and its power in the “Hamilton” Broadway musical. Whether you have seen the musical or not, youll come away with a better understanding of the role language plays in our lives.
SUNDAY, JANUARY 29 at 4:00pm in the Larchmont Village Center, located directly behind the Larchmont Public Library. There will be a reception with refreshments available at 3:30pm.

"Hamilton" has won a Grammy for best musical theater album and the cast performed at the White House for an education initiative. With an album that has reached gold status, a mixtape set for release later this year, and a recently released behind-the-scenes book, "Hamilton" is everywhere, even if you aren't one of the lucky ones able to secure (or afford) the exclusive tickets.
