Relief For Katz's Family, Trial Over

Nearly two and a half years after 49-year-old Mamaroneck resident Jennifer Katz's body was found in her Baldwin Place home in December 2010, the man charged with her murder, Reginald Powell, was sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Katz, a divorced mother of two daughters, Stephanie and Naomi, was remembered for her kindness, her love of people and her generosity.  She would ride her bike to the Westchester Bakery most mornings to grab a cup of coffee and chat with the regulars, a group of neighborhood guys who would meet to talk baseball and any other topic that came up.

She was also a PTA mom and a team manager for a Mamaroneck/Larchmont Westchester Youth Soccer League; she worked at Larchmont Vision Care.
