Renowned Guitarist, Carlos Pavan, to Perform in Larchmont

On Sunday, January 28 at 4:00pm, join Carlos Pavan at the Larchmont Public Lilbrary, for a concert of captivating guitar.

Of Carlos Pavan, the World Music Report said, "The guitarist applies such delicate pressure to the strings in some parts of the piece that it would appear that nothing but air and wind rushes through between his fingers and the strings causing them to rustle as if they vibrate with the hushed leaves on trees during spring. Mr. Pavan worships at the alter of originality while remaining true to his Argentine roots”. “

On Sunday, January 28 at 4:00pm, join Carlos Pavan at the Larchmont Public Lilbrary, for a concert of captivating guitar. Refreshments will be available at 3:30pm. Pavan’s appearance is sponsored by the Friends of the Larchmont Public Library.

New York-based composer/guitarist Carlos Pavan skillfully blends Argentine rhythms with classical and jazz musical concepts. He has performed in major venues such as Lincoln Center, New England Conservatory (Boston), New York City Center, and the New Jersey Tango Festival, to name but a few. He has also performed internationally in France, Argentina, Canada, Ireland, Portugal, and Japan.

Carlos Pavan began his guitar training at the age of 12 in Argentina and has since become one of the most diverse guitarists and composers in contemporary music. Carlos arrived in New York from Argentina in 2000 to pursue musical studies and received a two-year scholarship at The Collective in Mnahattan, where he has studied under Jesse Henserkiefken, Jorge Morel, Dave Smey, and Pablo Ziegler (Astor Piazzolla's piano player).

Since then, he has performed at well-renowned venues throughout the United States as well as internationally. His latest CD, "Suite del Interior: original compositions for guitar and string quartet”, is a blend of argentine tango/folk dances, jazz harmonies and classical forms. Of the CD The World Music Report wrote "throughout the album Carlos Pavan shows his ingenuity as a composer who understands and uses color brilliantly in his writing and arrangements". The album is composed, arranged and produced by Carlos Pavan and recorded with special guest, PUBLIQuartet. When not performing, he offers private guitar lessons and is also an instructor at the Noel Pointer Foundation in Brooklyn, NY.
