School-Based Health Center Discussion Monday in Mamaroneck

No decisions have been made yet about school-based health centers, and the Task Force will not be giving a recommendation.

The School-Based Health Center Task Force (a subcommittee of the District Wellness Committee) will present what they have learned so far about such facilities, during a meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, at Mamaroneck Avenue School.

The informational portion of the meeting will be followed by a time for questions, which will be answered or noted for further study, according to school officials. The work of the Task Force, including questions and comments raised on Jan. 12, will be incorporated into the Subcommittee’s report to the Board of Education.

On Jan. 20, following the Subcommittee’s report, the Board of Education will discuss possible next steps in the ongoing evaluation of the need, challenges and benefits of a SBHC in any of our schools.
