Larchmont Police, Fire Department Resuscitate Man at Post Office

A 56-year-old man who fell and lost consciousness at the Larchmont Post Office early Tuesday afternoon was defibrillated and transported to Sound Shore Hospital, said Lt. Antonino Rigano, spokesperson for the Larchmont Police Department.

Larchmont PD, members of the Volunteer Ambulance Corps—including Paramedic Donald Grande, Lieutenant Carly Casterella, Gary Kaplan, and Teddy Druckman—and Fire Department were called to the scene on the report of a man who was injured from a fall.  

According to the release sent out by the Larchmont PD, Lt. Anthony Martyn of the PD and Firefighter Christopher DiGiglio determined that the man—who was not breathing and had no pulse—should be defibrillated, and hooked him up to an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) for cardiac shock treatment. Officer Jonathan Dispenza and Officer Scott Schnall performed CPR on the man until he regained consciousness. 

The man, who was not named, is in good condition at Sound Shore, said officials.
