Sharing Your Story: A Free Writing Workshop with Amy Ralston Seife
Monday, April 20, 3:30 – 5:00 pm in Larchmont

At Home on the Sound presents:
Writing about your life is a way of coming to a fresh understanding of it at an age when you probably think you know yourself pretty well. Stephen King says, “I write to find out what I think.” In other words, until you set an experience down on paper, and determine the best words to describe it, you can’t fully appreciate or understand it.
We all have memories and experiences we’d like to share with family or friends – or perhaps simply record for ourselves. In this participatory one-hour session, you will start to transform your own unique memories into memoir. Previous writing experience is not required; the instructor will offer prompts to trigger memories and ideas. Arrive with a pen and pad or a laptop – and leave with what might be the beginning of your autobiography!
Amy Ralston Seife teaches creative writing classes and workshops, is a freelance writing coach and editor, and is the Managing Editor of The Westchester Review. A published short story writer, she has been twice nominated for a Pushcart Prize. She holds an MA in English Literature from Yale, and an MFA in fiction writing from Sarah Lawrence.
