MAMARONECK, NY — Mondays can be rough on all of us, but a Sound Shore osprey had a tougher commute to work than most this morning.

Around 9 a.m, the Mamaroneck Fire Department and the Department of Public Works were alerted by police about a large bird in distress at the end of Rushmore Avenue in the Village of Mamaroneck. The osprey had entangled itself on a large dead branch hanging over the shore of the Long Island Sound.
