Storm Temporarily Knocks Out Power and Mamaroneck Village 911 for Some Residents
About 655 Con Ed customers were affected. All power has been restored.

Wednesday afternoon’s thunderstorm and heavy winds temporarily knocked out power and the Village of Mamaroneck’s 911 system for some residents, and emergency calls had to be routed through the Town of Mamaroneck, according to officials.
The situation, which has since been restored, was due to the power outage that affected about 655 Con Edison customers.
“While 911 calls were temporarily transferred to the Town of Mamaroneck, normal police service and operations continued,” village officials wrote in an email to residents. “The power outage affecting electrical system and police calls lasted for a period over an hour.
