Since then, other residents have come forward to share their experiences with the commuter lot. One man, who asked to remain anonymous, had all four of the tires stolen from his car while it was parked in the Jefferson Avenue lot during daylight hours in May, 2010. In the morning, the man claims, he chased away several suspects who appeared to be inspecting his disabled car for additional parts to pilfer.
The VOM Police Department will be making a presentation about security cameras at the Feb. 14th Board of Trustees meeting. Last week, Mayor Norman Rosenblum said that he supported security cameras to deter a range of crimes currently plaguing the Village.
