Town of Mamaroneck Police Blotter

The weather caused numerous car accidents; the armed robbery is still under investigation.

Here is what the Town of Mamaroneck Police Department investigated last week:

Vehicle Accidents:

- On Jan. 29, a vehicle was traveling westbound on Rockland Avenue toward Weaver Street when a deer ran out in front of the vehicle, the driver told police. The deer was struck and the vehicle sustained damage to the front bumper and grill section. The driver was not injured and the deer was removed by the Police Department.

Weather-related Vehicle Accidents:

During the snow storm on Jan. 28, several drivers lost control of their vehicles and struck other vehicles or stationary objects.

- At 7:32 a.m., a driver reported to be driving on Weaver Street when he struck a piece of ice on the pavement, which caused the vehicle to strike a stone wall and roll over. No injuries were reported. The vehicle was towed from the scene. 

- At 8:37 a.m., a vehicle traveling southbound on Fenimore was struck by another vehicle that lost control on the ice, the first driver told police. The first vehicle was struck on the driver's side, which caused major damage to both vehicles. The first vehicle was deemed inoperable and both vehicles were towed from the scene. After being evaluated by EMS, all "student passengers" refused medical aid, police said. 

- At 8:50 a.m., a driver reported to be driving northbound on Old Post Road, near Deerfield Road, when the vehicle was struck by another vehicle in the rear bumper, causing it to hit the guardrail on the side of the road. The second vehicle came to a stop against the back of the first vehicle. Both vehicles had slid on the ice, according to police reports. 

In total, police reported 12 motor vehicle accidents last week. 

Aggravated DWI

- On Jan. 31, at approximately 1:48 p.m., a 34-year-old woman from Piscataway, NJ, was stopped on Harmon Drive by police for speeding and arrested for DWI. After taking the data master test, Jennifer Sanchez was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated and released on bail. 

Criminal Possession of a Forged Document

- On Jan. 27, at approximately 2 p.m., it was reported that Antoinette F. Cole, 21, from the Bronx had tried to cash a forged check at the TD Bank on 1289 Boston Post Rd. She was charged with criminal possession of a forged document. She was first seen and arrested in a Larchmont bank, according to the Larchmont Police Department blotter. 

Identity Theft in the Third Degree

- On Jan. 23, at around midnight, a complainant reported that someone had unlawfully used his credit card information to obtain goods and services, including two purchases in New Jersey and a payment to the New York City Department of Transportation, police said. The subject is unknown. 

Armed Robbery
