Two Mamaroneck Men Slashed With Broken Beer Bottle

A fight on Sunday night in the Village of Mamaroneck resulted in two felony charges for a 29-year-old village man.

 

A 29-year-old Village of Mamaroneck man was arrested early Sunday morning for lunging at two men with the jagged edge of a broken beer bottle during an altercation.

Rolando Velasquez-Fuentes was charged with two counts of first degree assault, felonies, for the attacks on a 22-year-old village resident who had gashes on his stomach and leg, and a 24-year-old village resident, who was cut on his back according to Mamaroneck police. Both victims were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police responded to the 600 block of Mamaroneck Avenue at 1:20 a.m. after receiving a 911 call about the fight. 

The cause of the fight between the men, who were described as acquaintances, is unknown.

Velasquez-Fuentes was arraigned on $75K bail and taken to Westchester County Jail.  He will appear in Village of Mamaroneck court on Aug. 16.
