Two Trustees, Village Justice Up For Reelection in Larchmont
Elections will take place in the Village of Larchmont today.

The polls are open in the Village of Larchmont today from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. to elect two trustees for two-year terms and a village justice for a four-year term. Voting will take place at the Larchmont Village Center, 119 Larchmont Ave., behind the Larchmont Public Library.
The two trustees—Lorraine Walsh and John Komar—are running uncontested for second terms. Thea Beaver, Larchmont's village justice since 1997, is also running uncontested.

Village Justice – Thea Beaver
A Larchmont village justice since 1997, Beaver served as president of the Westchester County Magistrates Association and was a member of the Board of Directors. During her term as president, she initiated a county-wide high school program on driver responsibility.

A partner in the local firm of Rosenstrach & Beaver, LLP, she enjoys representing both individual and corporate clients in various areas of general practice. She is especially passionate about her work as a New York State Attorney for Children, a position she has held since 1991, representing children in matters involving abuse, neglect, juvenile delinquency, custody, and visitation.
Beaver counts herself fortunate to have lived with her family in Larchmont for thirty years. Her husband, Bill, is the Executive Director of Dorf & Nelson LLP. Her children, Bill, Alyssa, and Brittany are graduates of Chatsworth, Hommocks, and Mamaroneck High School.
Village Trustee – John Komar
John Komar is running for a second term as Village Trustee. Komar is a Westchester native and has been a resident of Larchmont for nine years. He is married to Katharine Colloton Komar, a Larchmont native.
Komar is a member of the Larchmont Yacht Club and a parishioner at St. Augustine’s Church. He has volunteered as a member of the Larchmont Fire Department, the Village Board of Assessment Review (BAR) and the Village Business District Improvement Committee. His strong belief in community service and his experience in the financial industry is an asset to the Village of Larchmont.
Komar is employed as the chief credit officer for Country Bank in NYC and, has over 31 years experience in accounting and finance with the most recent 25 years specializing in real estate financing and banking. John earned a degree in business management at Boston College.
Village Trustee – Lorraine Walsh
Lorraine Walsh is running for her second term as Village Trustee. During her 15 years as a Larchmont resident, she has served as co-chair of the Town of Mamaroneck/Village of Larchmont Coastal Zone Management Committee (CZMC); as chair of the Larchmont Democrats; volunteered at the Sheldrake Environmental Center; been active in the PTA and taught science at Rye Neck High School. She presently owns a small landscape design company.
Before coming to Larchmont, Walsh worked as a NYC public high school science teacher, an acquisitions editor for an STM book publisher and as an environmental geologist on Long Island.
Her wide-ranging experience in business, education and environmental sciences demonstrates an ability to adapt to a broad variety of challenges as well as relate to diverse communities of people. These skills have served her well in managing the multifaceted issues facing our village today.
