UPDATE: ConEd Stabilizes 'Sink Hole' After Neighbor Complaints
A gas main under the hole in the roadway complicated efforts to make repairs. A metal plate was put in place Tuesday night.

MAMARONECK, NY — Within hours of being contacted about a large pothole, described as a "sinkhole" by neighbors, Mamaroneck officials have addressed neighbors' concerns.
A ConEd gas main under the hole in the road complicated efforts to make repairs. According to the Village of Mamaroneck Department of Public Works, ConEd crews placed a metal plate over the damaged roadway Tuesday night.
By early Wednesday morning, the plate was in place and there was evidence that crews had moved a large amount of debris from the area of the hole in the road on New Street at Ralph Avenue.
