Historian David Osborn, from the St. Paul’s Church National Historic Site, presents the history and a compelling virtual tour of Yellowstone, America’s very first national park established on March 1, 1872. Today, Yellowstone National Park is a nearly 3,500-sq.-mile wilderness recreation area atop a volcanic hot spot. Mostly in Wyoming, the park spreads into parts of Montana and Idaho as well. Yellowstone features dramatic canyons, alpine rivers, lush forests, hot springs and gushing geysers, including its most famous, Old Faithful. It’s also home to hundreds of animal species, including bears, wolves, bison, elk and antelope. This program is presented as part of the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service.
