Mamaroneck Police Blotters: August 15-22 (Updated)
Suspect hacks an employee's phone account and gets $2,000 wire transfer from boss.

The Town of Mamaroneck Police Department investigated the following incidents between Aug. 16 and 22:
Criminal mischief
- Between Aug. 21 at 10 p.m. and Aug. 22 at 10:30 a.m., the rear and driver side windows of an Elkan Road resident's car were broken, the resident told police. The vehicle was parked in the driveway and nothing was reported missing.

- Between 12:55 and 1:24 a.m. on Aug. 19, an unknown black male damaged the two sideview mirrors of a vehicle parked in the driveway of a Carol Lane home. A police officer found a hammer near the car, which appears to have been used to do the damage, police said. No arrests have been made.

On Aug. 19, between 1 and 10 p.m., a Town of Mamaroneck resident received a text message from an alleged employee asking him for a wire transfer of $2,000. Having made the transfer, the man realized that the phone account from which the text message came had been hacked.
Petit larceny
Between 4 and 7 p.m. on Aug. 18, nine shirts were stolen from the porch of a Palmer Avenue home. The shirts had been delivered by the cleaners and were valued at $100.
Warrant arrest
On Aug. 20, at approximately 1 p.m., a Town of Mamaroneck resident was arrested on a bench warrant for a previous aggravated harassment charge. The subject is a 50-year-old male.
Leaving the scene of an auto accident
On Aug. 16, between 9 a.m. and 7:20 p.m., the driver's side wheel fender of a vehicle was damaged during a hit and run accident on Murray Avenue. The suspect is a black female, police said.
Making graffiti
Between Aug. 19 at 8 p.m. and Aug. 20 at 7:15 a.m., an East Garden Road resident reported graffiti markings on the street and sidewalk in front of their residence.
In addition, police investigated:
- 4 motor vehicle accidents (no injuries)
- 1 case of aggravated harassment (repeated phone calls)
The Village of Mamaroneck Police Department investigated the following incidents between Aug. 15 and 22:
Burglary
- Between Aug. 18 at 6 p.m. and Aug. 19 at 6:52 p.m., a possible burglary was reported at an auto body shop on Waverly Avenue. Police would not provide further details as the case is being investigated by the detective division.
- A Bleeker Avenue resident reported that between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 20, someone entered the apartment and removed an undetermined number of items. There were no signs of forced entry, police said. The case is being addressed by the detective division.
Robbery
On Aug. 22, police caught four men who had allegedly robbed another man at knifepoint in the area of Mamaroneck and Halstead avenues. One of the suspects is a convicted sex offender. To read more about this incident, click here.
Criminal mischief and boat stolen
On Aug. 17 at 2:30 p.m., it was reported that the security camera at McMichael Yacht Brokers on Rushmore Avenue was not working because both cables operating it had been cut. No property was reported missing at this time. Two hours later, it was reported that a boat had gone missing from that location. The boat had been repossessed for money due, but ownership had yet to be given after paperwork was filed, police said.
Assault
On Aug. 18, at approximately 6 p.m., a 29-year-old male was arrested for allegedly striking another male with a belt on Old White Plains Road. He was charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor. At the time of his arrest, officers discovered that the subject had been issued two arrest warrants out of this jurisdiction, one for second-degree assault and the other for unlawful possession of marihuana, police said.
DWI
Between Aug. 20 and 22, five people were arrested and charged with DWI. The arrests were made on West Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck Avenue and Halstead Avenue. The suspects were a 26-year-old woman from New Rochelle, a 22-year-old man from Larchmont, a 42-year-old man from Rye, a 23-year-old male from Poughquag and a 23-year-old female from Larchmont.
Trespassing
On Aug. 15, at approximately 2:15 p.m., three males were arrested for trespassing at the David McDaniel Lodge on Madison Street. Management said the men were at the rear of the building, according to police reports. They were charged with criminal trespassing, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of alcohol. Two of the men, ages 37 and 18, are homeless. The third one, age 22, is a village resident.
Larceny
- On Aug. 17, at approximately 11:50 a.m., a woman reported that her iPhone, valued at $300, was stolen from a locker at the New York Sports Club on Palmer Avenue. The lock was tampered with, she told police.
-Between Aug. 17 and 18, the sideview mirror of a vehicle parked on the 700 block of West Boston Post Road was stolen.
- Between Aug. 18 and 19, four victims reported missing property from their unlocked vehicles, which were parked on Raleigh Road.
- On Aug. 18, between 10 and 11 a.m., a clarinet valued at $80 was taken from the front porch of a Chestnut Avenue home. The instrument had been left there for someone else to pick up.
- Between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 19, a bush was stolen from a home on Delancey Avenue.
- On Aug. 21, a man reported that his bike was stolen between 1 and 3 p.m. that same day while he was inside the Duck Inn on Boston Post Road.
Criminal mischief
- On Aug. 20 at 12:45 p.m., a caller reported to have seen graffiti markings on a stop sign at Creek Road.
- On Aug. 20, someone reported to have found graffiti markings on the back and side of a building on Concord Avenue. The incident happened sometime between Aug. 10 and 20, according to police reports.
Noise
On Aug. 20 at 1:03 a.m., police received a report of loud parties on the rear patio at Molly Spillane's. The units spoke with security, who stated that they would lower the radios in that area, according to police reports. The condition was corrected. At 1:30 a.m., there was a second noise complaint, but units reported that the condition did not exist, and a man stated he would be closing the patio at that time. At 1:51 a.m., police received a report of a loud group on the rear patio. The condition was corrected, police said, and the bar was closing.
In addition, police investigated:
- 1 motor vehicle accident
- 9 Vehicle and Traffic Law arrests
- 3 hit and runs
- 1 Village Code violation arrest
- 3 cases of harassment (one of them a domestic incident that lead to an arrest)
