VOM Report Two Registered Sex Offenders Living in Mamaroneck
Dr. Robert Shaps, the Mamaroneck School superintendent, notified parents that two registered sex offenders are living in the community.

Two registered sex offenders have moved back to the Mamaroneck area, according to information released by the Village of Mamaroneck (VOM) Police Department. Additionally, a notice went out to Mamaroneck School District parents yesterday informing them of the situation.
Jonathan Romero, 24, was convicted of first-degree sodomy, a B felony, in 2002. The victim, a 12-year old male, was threatened with a knife or other cutting instrument. Romero—as a registered level 2 sexually violent offender—is required to be registered as a sex offender for life. Level 2 offenders are considered to have a moderate risk of recidivism. He will be residing on Grand Street in Mamaroneck.
In August 2010, Romero was arrested—along with three other individuals—after they reportedly robbed a man at knifepoint in the VOM and absconded with an undisclosed amount of money. He was charged with second-degree robbery. He was also arrested in the past three years for failing to comply with sex offender registration, officials said.

Clyde Webb, 49, was convicted in 1996 of second-degree rape, a D felony. The victim was a 13-year old female. Webb is registered as a level 1 sex offender, which means that he has a low risk of recidivism. He is required by law to be listed as a sex offender for a minimum of 20 years, but is not listed on the NY Sex Offender Registry online.
Mamaroneck School Superintendent Dr. Robert Shaps urges parents to speak with their children about using caution when encountering strangers or circumstances that may increase their vulnerability.
