Westchester Announces Beach Closures

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — The heavy rain Monday took a toll on Westchester beaches. The following beaches are preemptively closed for at least 48 hours July 23 and July 24 due to 2.48 inches of rain overnight and Tuesday morning.

• Harbor Island
• Beachpoint
• Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht
• Orienta Club
• Echo Bay Yacht Club
• Hudson Park
• Shore Acres
• Coveleigh Club
• Davenport Club
• Greentree Club
• Surf Club

Westchester officials said the closures may be extended pending sample results.

The following permitted beaches on Mohegan Lake in Yorktown are closed until further notice due to blue-green algae blooms in the regulated swimming areas:

• Mohegan Beach Park
• Mohegan Beach Colony
