On June 5th the Sarah Neuman Center, a rehabilitation center and nursing home in Mamaroneck, honored Westchester philanthropists Eugene and Emily Grant.

VIP’s on hand included Audrey Weiner, President and CEO of The New Jewish Home, the parent organization of the Sarah Neuman Center; Rabbi Jeffrey Sirkman, senior rabbi of Larchmont Temple; and Mayor Norman Rosenbloom of the Village of Mamaroneck.

At the event, The New Jewish Home named its first ‘Small House’ The Eugene and Emily Grant Small House in honor of the long-time Jewish Home supporters who made the project possible. Small Houses, which are based on the groundbreaking Green House® model of nursing care, are small-scale, supportive, home-like residences of 12-13 elders. In their intimacy and the degree of autonomy they offer elders, they offer an alternative to traditional nursing homes.
