Westchester Volunteers Find a Good Cause for a Night Out
UJA-Federation of New York in Westchester supporters come together to sort and package medical supplies for Afya.
UJA-Federation of New York’s Westchester volunteers recently gathered at Afya Foundation’s headquarters in Yonkers to sort and package medical supplies for areas in Florida, the Carolinas, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean devastated by recent storms. A UJA-Federation grantee, the foundation is a medical supply recovery organization.
Since Hurricane Maria, UJA has proudly partnered with the Afya Foundation and the Greater New York Hospital Association to arrange over 29 flights to hard–hit areas to deliver desperately needed supplies. At the event, Afya Founder and Executive Director Danielle Butin spoke about her organization’s response in the aftermath of the storms and the devastation that remains.
