Yonkers Woman Pleads Guilty To Stealing $987K From Employer
She was working as a part-time personal assistant.

MAMARONECK, NY — A Yonkers woman pleaded guilty Friday for stealing almost $1 million from her employer.
Joann Perrino, 60, of Yonkers, was accused of second-degree grand larceny, a felony, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino Jr.
He said, from Jan. 12, 2009, through May 19, 2014, Perrino, who was working as a part-time personal assistant, used accounts in the name of her employer for her own personal use.

In total, Perrino stole $987,428.87.
She opened accounts in her victim’s name, initiated transfers and wrote checks from the victim’s account to pay for her own personal expenses and those of her family — all without the knowledge permission or authority of the victim.

The stolen funds were used to make car and mortgage payments, to pay for travel and spa treatments and, on one occasion, more than $4,000 was spent on clothes.
Perrino was arrested by the Town of Mamaroneck Police May 22, 2014, after an investigation by that office.
She remains out on $50,000 bail.
Perrino’s next court date is May 11, 2017.
She faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in state prison. As part of her sentence, a restitution judgment order will be entered against her in favor of the victim for the entire amount.
