Young Larchmont-Mamaroneck Families Bring Spring to Senior Center

Young families from Larchmont and Mamaroneck came together recently with UJA-Federation of New York to welcome spring with the senior residents at the Sarah Neuman Center in Mamaroneck. Flowers were planted in flower pots they decorated, and the kids interacted with the residents, including an impromptu piano performance by a talented 9 year old.

The volunteer event, sponsored by UJA-Federation of New York, took place on Sunday, April 29, 2018. Located in Mamaroneck and run by UJA’s nonprofit partner, the New Jewish Home, Sarah Neuman offers post-acute rehabilitation and long-term nursing home care, all on one campus for elders.

UJA-Federation raises funds that sustain the activities of 80 human-service, educational, and community-building agencies and hundreds of other grantees. These community-based organizations provide services that combat poverty, help the elderly age with dignity, promote Jewish identity and renewal, strengthen children and families, and open doors to those with disabilities and special needs.

Amissa Rybak and Marisa de Sa, both of Larchmont, served as event chairs.
