Four Levittown Softball Players Named All-Long Island

Athletes from Island Trees and MacArthur have been selected to the team by Newsday.

Four softball players from Levittown have been named to Newsday's 2012 All-Long Island team after finishing stellar seasons on the diamond. 

Kristen Brown and Jena Cozza of the Long Island Champion MacArthur Generals were named All-Long Island first team, while Island Trees Alannah Basile was named first team and Tori Tedeschi was named to the second team.

Brown, a pitcher and shortstop, was named Long Island Player of the Year after batting .583 with 16 home runs and 46 RBI’s. The North Carolina bound senior also got it done on the mound, finishing with a 9-4 record and a 2.85 ERA, as the Generals won their first LI Championship since 1988.

Cozza, a junior center fielder for the Generals, hit .419 with five homers and 24 RBI’s.

Basile, a pitcher for the Bulldogs, went 18-3 with a 1.46 ERA on the mound, while batting .375 with five home runs and 22 RBI's. Her teammate Tedeschi, a third baseman, was named to the second-team, also helping Island Trees get to the Nassau County championship.
