Fundraising Dinner for Levittown Slammers Softball Team Held at Domenico's
The event was held to raise funds for the team's trip to Colorado for the Babe Ruth World Series.
On Monday evening, the Levittown Slammers fast-pitch softball team held a fundraiser at Domenico's Italian Restaurant to help fund their trip to Lamar, Colorado for the Babe Ruth World Series.
From 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., the team gathered with family and friends to celebrate being the first Metro New York area team to participate in the series. The fundraiser was hosted by Michael Gordek, manager of the Slammers, and coaches Steve Mars, Bob Massoni and Craig Torswick. Also hosting the event was John Pine, State Commissioner of the Babe Ruth New York Metro Leagues and Assistant Commissioner Jim Pellicone.
"We could be in Colorado over 10 days, and the only thing the team is paying for is their plane tickets, so we need funding for hotel costs," said Steve Mars, coach for the Slammers.
