Island Trees sophomore Alannah Basile pitched the first no-hitter of her varsity career in a 7-0 win over New Hyde Park Wednesday.
Basile struck out 10 in the no-hitter while walking five. She also hit a two-run home run in the top of the fifth inning.
Supporting Basile on offense were Brittany Ciaramitaro, who was 4-for-4 with a run scored; Nicole Pellegrino, who had two hits and drove in two runs; and Tori Tedeschi, who hit a two-run double in the top of the first inning.

Per Newsday, Basile came back Thursday and pitched another complete game, allowing one run on six hits and striking out 11.
The Lady Dawgs are sitting atop League II-1 with a 5-1 conference record. They are 9-2 overall.

Basile played a major role in the Levittown Slammers' third-place finish in the Babe Ruth World Series this past July.
