On Tuesday, Oct. 23, the Island Trees High School Marching Band and Kickline performed at the Newsday Marching Band Festival held at Hofstra University.
The students were under the direction of Band Directors Greg Warnokowski and James Ingenito, Percussion Advisor Jerry Nobile, and Kickline Advisor Nicole Santoriello. Leading the band were Drum Majors Kathryn Gundersen, Tiana Grgas, Jessica King, and Jenna Morlock.
Newsday holds this event where marching bands from all Long Island school districts can perform for each other and friends and family in an inspiring evening of musical and visual display. Division Avenue HS and MacArthur HS teams also performed at the event.
At the end of the evening, all bands come together to play the “America the Beautiful." The purpose of this festival is to “inspire and pave the way for a life in music," according to Newsday.
Congratulations to all students who performed in this awe inspiring event! To see videos and photos from the Newsday Marching Band Festival, go to MSG Varsity .
