Island Trees Wrestler Signs With Buffalo

Joey Manna will continue his academic and athletic career for the Division I school.

After competing in the intercolliegiate sports of football and rugby at Buffalo State University, Joey Manna, Island Trees Class of '12, has just signed to wrestle for the Division I University of Buffalo.  

The MAC conference Bulls compete against schools such as Rutgers, Penn State, Kent State, and Navy. Manna will start his collegiate wrestling career this summer at the Bulls training camp, and will be wrestling as a heavyweight.  

Manna, who was a two time All-County selection during his high school career, was a 2011 Nassau County Finalist. He represented the Island Trees Bulldogs at the New York State tournament, and was All-State in Freestyle and Greco-Roman Wrestling.

Manna was one of the recipients of the "Daniel Fuentes" and "Dollars for Scholars" scholarships. Damian Garcia, Lou Tourto, Ryan Vinberg, and Chris Schuerlein have all contributed to the development of this outstanding wrestler.
