'Forever Missed': Levittown Mourns Loss Of Alexa Duryea, 19, After Crash: GoFundMe Created, Services Set
"Her sudden loss has left an immense and unimaginable void, and our hearts are broken as we try to navigate a world without her."
LEVITTOWN, NY — Hearts across Long Island were shattered by the loss of two 19-year-olds after a tragic crash occurred on Friday in Hicksville. Police said Alexa Duryea of Levittown was one of the young women who died in the crash.
The other young woman has been identified as Lindsey Parke of Levittown, police said.
According to Nassau County police, the crash took place at 11:30 p.m in Hicksville. Officers said a 23-year-old male was operating a 2026 white BMW, heading westbound on Old Country Road in the vicinity of Sterling Place, where he lost control of his vehicle, crossed over into oncoming traffic, and struck a tree— and then a building.

A GoFundMe has been set up for the Duryea family and has raised more than $17K from 224 donors so far. Organizer Dorothy Neftleberg-Jackson started the GoFundMe and shared a heartfelt message on the page: "It is with unimaginably heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beautiful cousin Alexa Duryea. She was just 19 years old. Alexa was deeply loved and will be forever missed by her family, her siblings, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her sudden loss has left an immense and unimaginable void, and our hearts are broken as we try to navigate a world without her.
"This GoFundMe has been created to help support Alexa’s parents, Jessica and James, during this incredibly difficult time, assisting with funeral and memorial expenses, as well as the unexpected costs that come with such a heartbreaking loss. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will help ease the financial burden and allow the family the space to grieve and honor Alexa’s life.
