Levittown Firefighters Demonstrate Fire Safety: PHOTOS
Among the demonstrations: the importance of keeping doors closed during an inferno.
LEVITTOWN, NY — Levittown residents got an up close and personal look at fire safety this week as members of the fire department gave tips and held demonstrations at a fire prevention event.
Firefighters showed members of the community the importance of closing doors during a blaze. Photos taken at the event showed an inferno raging in one room, while the other remains safely unburned on the other side of a closed door. Officials said residents have a better chance of escaping from behind a closed door.
